What is Winkie, exactly?

A tiny camera your little one wears on their clothes. It has its own cellular connection, so when you’re apart you can open the Winkie app, see where they are, and peek at a live view of their world.

What ages is it for?

We’re designing Winkie for toddlers and preschoolers: old enough to be on the move, too young to tell you much about their day.

How does a live peek work?

Open the app and tap “Watch live.” Winkie wakes up, its light glows, and you see what it sees in real time, for a few minutes at a time. Close the app and it goes back to sleep to save battery.

Does Winkie record audio?

No. Winkie is designed to be video only. It sees, it doesn’t listen, which keeps conversations private and helps everyone around your child feel comfortable.

Who can see the video? Is anything saved?

Only you and the people you invite, like a co-parent or grandparent. Peeks are live and aren’t stored. If you love a moment, you can snap a photo of it.

Can my child wear it at daycare or school?

Every daycare and school has its own rules about cameras, so always ask first. We’re designing Winkie first for time with nannies, sitters, family and outings.

Is there a monthly plan?

Yes. Because Winkie has its own cellular connection, it will need a small monthly plan that covers data, the app and support. Founding families will see pricing before the presale opens.

How long does the battery last?

We’re designing for a full day of wear with several live peeks, then an overnight charge in the dock. We’ll share tested numbers once the prototype is done.

Is it safe for little kids?

Winkie is being designed with rounded edges, a secure clip and a sealed-in battery. Before it ships, it will be tested against the US safety standards that apply to it, including FCC certification.

When will Winkie ship?

We’ll share a delivery estimate when the presale opens, once the prototype has been tested with real families. Founding families hear first.

Does joining the list cost anything?

No. Joining is free and doesn’t commit you to buy anything. We’ll email you when the presale opens, plus a few updates along the way.
